Loch Ness - It is just a few mintues walk to the shores of the beautiful Loch Ness, which is some 23 miles long, over 700 feet deep and holds a greater volume of water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined - which probably explains the extremely infrequent sightings of the legendary 'Loch Ness Monster'. Cruises on the loch can be arranged in Fort Augustus on board the very well equiped 'Royal Scot'. Cruises can also be arranged in Drumnadrochit, the location of the original Loch Ness Monster centre.
