Comfy stay, at a comfy price - Edinburgh's best B&B! I've been coming here 1-2 times a year for some time now, and this gorgeous little B&B never fails to disappoint. After a short bus ride from Edinburgh Waverley Station, you're standing outside this charming guest house. Step through the front door, and you're greeted by a calm and relaxing hallway. There's a big display of tourist brochures, really useful when planning your day trips. And for those who like a bit of reassurance, you'll find The Scottish Tourist Board's award for 'Exceptional customer care' hanging proudly on the wall close by. Checking-in with Neil, an absolute pleasure, like saying hi to an old friend. Then you're off to your comfy room. Look out for the beautiful window, half way up the stairs. And the oldie-worldie map too. All part of the quaint character of this homely home - as a regular, that's exactly how it feels! The wall art continues, when you enter the cosy breakfast room: a foodie map! I spotted my Staffordshire oatcakes right away - can you spot YOUR local delicacy Talking of foodie maps and local delicacies, Lesley's cooking - where do I start Let's just say, I wish I could take her home with me! I always indulge in the veggie breakfast: McSweens is a total genius, I'm a converted haggis fan; Lesley's spinach with mushrooms, a fab combo; the freshly made toast is wonderful - and when I say fresh, I mean fresh, the bread white and brown is all homemade! I could go on - photos don't do it justice, believe me! As you finish your morning cuppa, take a look out the window: the public transport is a cheap and convenient way to travel between bustling city and quiet suburbs, and the nearest bus stop is only a stone's throw away quite literally!. The Lothian Buses company represents great service and great value, just like Brae Lodge. Hope you find this review useful, the inside track on what this lovely guest house is all about. For a comfy stay at a comfy price!, Brae Lodge is the one for me … Edinburgh's best B&B! Mrs J Staffordshire
